See Progress - We Are Moving Forward - Kathy Caprino

See Improvement - We Are Moving Forward I read early today Rick Hanson's excellent pamphlet Only One Thing â€" a year of week by week practices to assist us with developing in joy, love and intelligence. This piece was tied in with Seeing Improvement, and it was a demulcent for my spirit â€" exactly what the doctored ordered. I woke up feeling especially hard on myself for the mix-ups I've made these previous years, and the harder I was on myself, the more awful I felt. I went to my PC, and saw Rick's email, and it halted me in my (self-flogging) tracks. He helped me recollect that, in little ways, our reality is showing signs of improvement, my reality is getting better. We are gaining ground, developing ourselves, helping other people, making change, discovering arrangements, tending to problems. It's not all fate and misery and dull occasions, as the media thus numerous on the planet might want us to accept. I feel so much better, recollecting that progress is being made. Here's Rick's excellent piece underneath â€" I trust it causes you as it did me, and urges you to see such's improving and moving in your life. See Improvement â€" Just One Thing We should defeat our scholarly weakness, and reinforce our versatility by making sure to perceive what is improving. Towards that end, I concluded that today (stuck here in the day off) start perusing something feeding and inspiring, and I picked A Return to Love, by Marianne Williamson. My dear companion Susie Horgan prescribed it to me. I had gotten it years back, however never opened it, and there it lay on my rack. I opened the book to discover this: Love is the thing that we were brought into the world with. Dread is the thing that we have learned here. The otherworldly excursion is the surrender â€" or unlearningâ€"of dread and the acknowledgment of affection once more into our hearts. Love is the fundamental existential fact. It is our definitive reality and our motivation on earth. To be intentionally mindful of it, to encounter love in ourselves as well as other people, is the importance of life. Ok… I'm going to cherish this book and this day.
